Jennifer (Fullerton) Brown '01
Jen (Fullerton) Brown graduated from the University of San Diego in 2001 bachelor's degree in Speech Communication and a minor in Political Science. "I will be forever grateful to have been lucky enough to spend four years on such a wonderful campus with so many people who now mean so much to me," said Jennifer.
1: What have you been up to since graduation?
Shortly after graduation I started a company in San Diego called Vavi Sport and Social Club that organizes sports leagues and social events for young professionals. Once it was up and running I sold my half and moved to Flagstaff, Arizona where I worked as a production assistant, reporter and fill-in anchor for the NBC affiliate. Then I moved to Grand Junction, Colorado to be the weekend anchor at KJCT News 8. After a year and half there I was moved to NEWSCHANNEL 13 in Colorado Springs where I now anchor the morning and noon shows. While in Grand Junction I met my husband Doug Brown and we were married in September of 2006.
2: What is your fondest memory of USD?
It's hard to pick one memory... but I'd have to say late nights spent in the dorms in the valley freshman year with all the girls in our dorm up giggling in the "study" area.
3. What is your favorite place on campus, why?
My favorite place was The Deli! It was great to know you got to meet up with everyone for a tasty and social lunch everyday!
4. Who was your favorite USD professor or class?
Dr. Leeva Chung, she always made me step outside of my comfort zone and try things I never thought I'd be able to do.
5: How have you remained involved with USD since graduation?
Mostly staying in touch with the wonderful friends I made there in what now seem like four very short years. Living far from campus I dont' get to come back as often as I'd like.
6: If you could offer a current USD student advice, what would it be?
Take advantage of everything that interests you while at USD you never know what might completely change the direction you thought you wanted your life to take!
Maureen "Mo" Muir says she owes much of her success to the student experience and the world-class education she received at the University of San Diego.
