Merit Awards
- Awards are automatically determined by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Your admission application is the application for the scholarships.
- Scholarships are awarded based upon superior academic performance including grades, course selection, and test scores. Financial need is not considered in the awarding of merit scholarships.
- Only freshman applicants are eligible for merit scholarship consideration.
- Scholarship awards will range from $10,000–$25,000 and are renewable for four years by meeting minimum grade point average requirements.
Athletic Scholarships
- All of our NCAA Division I sports have scholarship opportunities, except football and men's crew.
- Scholarship amounts vary by year and by sport.

Choral Scholars
- Award amount: $8,500
- Number of scholarships per year: Approximately 4

Music Endowment Scholarship
- Award amount: $4,000-6,000
- Number of scholarships awarded per year: 4
- Application deadline: March 1, 2013
Anne Catherine Swanke Memorial Scholarship
- Award amount: $2,000
- Number of scholarships awarded per year: 1–2
AUTHOR E. HUGHES SCHOLARSHIP IN MUSIC
- Award amount: $3,500
- Number of scholarships per year: 1
- Application deadline: March 1, 2013
USD Chamber Ensemble Scholarship
Any USD student, regardless of his or her major or minor, may receive, each semester, a $500 scholarship to go towards individual lessons for the student's orchestral instrument once the student has successfully auditioned for the the USD Chamber Ensembles.
