Shiley Theater
Located off Courtyard in Camino HallSite of 1996 Presidential Debate

Shiley Theater geometrically mirrors Founders Chapel and anchors the quad defined by Founders Hall, so Shiley Theater anchors the Camino Hall quad. Seating 600, the theater served not only as a center for the performing arts for the Women's College, but also as a space where movies were shown and rallies and large assemblies took place. Esthetically the theater has changed little since it was completed in 1952. Two Aubusson tapestries and the two large crystal chandeliers, in place when the building opened, still adorn the interior. In 1996, air conditioning was added to the existing make-up air system providing consistent temperature control during theater usage.
