This new department not only features sustainable goods, but has been created using sustainable material. The floor and display tops are made of cork and bamboo. USD Zipcars: Rent a car right here at USD - for an hour, a day or more! Great deals for USD students, faculty and staff! Sign up, receive your card by mail (5-7 days), then rent a car. Membership fee is applied towards your first month of driving, so you get $35 worth of drive time free!
As many USD drivers grapple with soaring fuel prices and the impact of greenhouse emissions on the environment, the university has found a way to help. Members of the university community have the opportunity to reserve a rental car through Zipcar, a car sharing community. Zipcars are equipped with wireless technology and are energy efficient vehicles. Zipcar will provide drivers the freedom to have transportation when they need it without the expense and trouble of having a personal car on campus. Better yet, for every Zipcar on the road, an estimated 15 commuters' cars are eliminated.
