Hahn School of Nursing Dean Jane M. Georges Named Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing

Jane M. Georges, PhD, RN, dean of the Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science, was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN), the highest honor in American nursing.
Fellows represent nursing’s most accomplished leaders in policy, research, administration, practice and academia and hail from all 50 states and 55 countries.
Georges was recognized for her substantial contributions to health and healthcare. Her scholarly work in the field of health equity has made an international impact on nursing and education research.
“USD congratulates Dr. Jane Georges on her selection as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing,” said Gail F. Baker, PhD, senior vice president and provost. “This honor reflects the excellence Dr. Georges brings to her work and to the nursing profession, as well as the high caliber of education provided by the Hahn School.”
Georges joins three USD faculty members who have also been named Fellows, including Cynthia D. Connelly, PhD, RN, FAAN, Ann Mayo, DNSc, RN, FAAN and Adriana Arcia, PhD, RN, FAAN. She will be formally inducted on October 18, 2025.
