Associate General Counsel
Bryce Young joined USD’s Office of the General Counsel after working as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights, where he investigated and resolved claims of civil rights discrimination at academic institutions. Prior to his government role, Bryce worked for over a decade at two large law firms as a litigation, appellate, and higher education attorney. He has extensive state, federal, and arbitration litigation experience, as well as substantial appellate experience before state and federal appellate courts. He has been a frequent speaker at higher education conferences and enjoys training on regulatory compliance.
Bryce is active within the legal community. He is a current officer on the California Lawyers Association’s Litigation Section Executive Committee, and is a past chair of the Committee on Appellate Courts. He previously served on several committees of the National Association of College and University Attorneys, and is a frequent organizer, speaker, and author on emerging legal issues, with a particular emphasis on accessibility and inclusivity.
Bryce served as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Alan C. Page, Helen M. Meyer, and Christopher J. Dietzen of the Minnesota Supreme Court. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, where he was editor-in-chief of the law review. He graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Economics from the University of St. Thomas.
