
General Counsel
Megan Mazza joined the Office of the General Counsel in January 2016. In her role as General Counsel, Megan advises University personnel on a wide array of legal issues, including: employment and faculty matters, research compliance, contract development, Title IX compliance, student issues, real estate and construction, finance, athletics, intellectual property, academic issues, University policies, risk management, and litigation.
Megan has practiced law in San Diego since 2004. Prior to joining USD she practiced as a litigator and advised clients on a wide range of transactional matters. While in private practice, Megan was selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star, a San Diego Business Journal Best of the Bar lawyer, and a Top Young Attorney by The Daily Transcript.
Megan is also an active member in a number of community service endeavors. She serves on of the Board of Directors for the Sister League of San Diego, a non-profit that provides safe housing and supportive day programming to at-risk women. Megan also serves on the Advisory Board for the School of the Madeleine, and has previously served as a finance committee member for St. Agnes Catholic Church, and in various leadership roles at the Lawyers Club of San Diego.
Megan earned her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, and her B.A. in Government from the University of Notre Dame.
