Hepatitis A Outbreak in San Diego County

San Diego County is experiencing an ongoing outbreak of Hepatitis A, a viral illness that causes liver infection. The outbreak has (so far) mainly affected vulnerable populations, including homeless and illicit drug users and in men who have sex with men. This virus is spread through direct contact with an infected person, or through consuming contaminated food or water. The best way to prevent Hepatitis A is to get vaccinated. Hand washing can also reduce your risk for infection. For more information on Hepatitis A, the outbreak, and prevention, see USD's Student Health Center's letter to campus groups regarding Ongoing Hepatitis A outbreak in San Diego County.
Wash Your Hands

USD is implementing gender-inclusive bathrooms all around campus! So far there are seven in various locations throughout campus. A Social Change Corps group through the Changemaker Hub is dedicated to promoting the implementation of and education about gender-inclusive bathrooms at USD. Gender-inclusive bathrooms are bathrooms that are truly for everyone, because everyone deserves  to pee in peace.
