University Policies
Policy Update Process
We are in the process of updating a number of university policies. We developed an extensive committee structure to ensure active participation by the university community in the policy update process.
Working committees review and make recommendations regarding policies within their assigned sections. The working committee recommendations are then submitted to an oversight committee. The oversight committee is charged with the responsibility of reviewing and approving the recommendations of each working committee. The working committees and the oversight committee are comprised of representatives from across campus. The University Senate in particular has been an important contributor to the process. Two positions on each working committee and two positions on the oversight committee are filled with faculty members appointed by the Senate. The oversight committee includes a staff representative and a student representative appointed by the Associated Students.
The oversight committee recommendations are submitted to the President’s Cabinet for approval. Policies approved by the President’s Cabinet are submitted to the Senate for its review and input. The policies are then submitted to the President for approval.

Below are links to two separate documents that contain current university policies. It is the responsibility of all members of the university community to read, be familiar with, and comply with all applicable policies.
The first link is to new and updated policies that are now posted on-line in a searchable format. The link will allow you to access new and revised policies that have been approved by the President and are effective as of the date of the President’s approval. The on-line policy postings are a work in progress. The number of policies accessible through this link will continue to grow as additional policies are approved. You may be required to provide an appropriate university identification code or password to access some or all of the policies accessible through this link.
The second link is to the existing “Policies and Procedures Manual.” This manual historically has been posted as a single PDF file. We realize that it is a large document, but it will continue to be posted as a single PDF file as we focus our attention on the policy update process. Over time, policies in the PDF document will be replaced and superseded by policies accessible through the link described above.
