Students applying to USD can submit both SAT Reasoning and ACT scores. The highest score will be utilized when reviewing their application. Should a student take the SAT multiple times, we will combine their highest Critical Reading and Math scores to give them the highest score possible. Students that take the ACT multiple times will be evaluated using their highest composite score.

For admission purposes, we will only use the Critical Reading and Math scores from the SAT. The Writing portion will be used in assisting us in placing the student in the proper English course should they decide to come to USD. SAT Subject tests are not required.

Students that decide to take the ACT must take the optional writing portion. The writing score, while not used in the admissions process, will be used in placing the student in the proper English course.
