Matthew Wion was born, raised and originally educated in San Diego California. He earned his Ph. D. in Philosophy from Marquette in August of 2011. During his graduate studies, he taught Philosophy courses at Marquette, and at Mount Mary College ( in Milwaukee). For five years he lived in Northern Illinois, teaching at several community colleges. In March of 2015, he was lucky enough to move back home to San Diego. He has taught at USD since Fall 2016. He absolutely loves teaching at USD and truly appreciates his students and colleagues. He is happily married to his wife Erica, and he has two beautiful sons, Henry and Jameson. Both boys are on the severe end of the autism spectrum and he's proud every day to see them grow and learn to strive in a world that doesn't always understand them.
