Dr. Jannise T. Baclig, PhD, RN, is a Clinical Associate Professor and Director of the Nursing Leadership Program at the Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science, where she draws on over 20 years of experience to educate and develop graduate nursing students. A first-generation college graduate who immigrated from the Philippines over 40 years ago and became the only nurse in her family, her diverse background spans pediatric orthopedics, bedside nursing, clinical education, and workforce development initiatives. Dr. Baclig is deeply committed to service, mentorship, and cultivating transformational, evidence-based nursing leaders to foster safer healthcare environments. Outside of her professional life, she maintains a rich personal life as a self-proclaimed foodie who loves reading, music, travel, and spending time with loved ones, while also being an enthusiastic fan of BTS.

Kathy Marsh

Dr. Kathy Marsh, is the Associate Dean in the Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science & Beyster Institute for Nursing Research, University of San Diego. She oversees the Masters Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN), the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), the Executive Nurse Leader (ENL), the Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL), and the International Programs. Her research is related to pediatric populations and families, with Type 1 Diabetes, to make seamless and successful transitions to young adulthood as well as the study of psychoeducational interventions that improve both metabolic control of diabetes and the quality of life in young people and their parents. Her doctoral dissertation focused on adolescents transitioning from pediatric to adult care.
