Imagining New Intersections Between Business and Peace

The Center for Peace and Commerce (CPC) is a partnership between the School of Business and the Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies to prepare new generations of change makers.  The CPC encourages students to develop and exercise innovative approaches for making a positive impact on the 4 Ps– people, planet, profit and peace. The CPC contributes to a new paradigm for business and peacebuilding through teaching, scholarship, and social enterprise development.  

Global Social Innovation Challenge Through the Global Social Innovation Challenge, university students in participating universities from around the globe generate ideas for innovative ventures that respond to a social, economic, environmental, or justice issue of their choice, and compete for seed funding at an annual global event to launch or expand their ventures!
Idea Labs The Idea Labs are a series of workshops, speakers, and educational events to catalyze student social innovation and entrepreneurship.
Women Innovators The Women Innovations Initiative encourages the development of female students as social entrepreneurs and innovators through dialogue, field experiences, networking, mentoring, and funding opportunities.
Social Entrepreneurship Summer Social Entrepreneurship Summer Training During the summer the CPC hosts a Social Entrepreneurship Program for the Hansen Summer Institute (HSI) for young global leaders representing 20 different nations.
Internships Interning at the CPC provides an unparalleled opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to gain professional experience in the field of innovation for social impact.
Mentorship The CPC matches students with mentors with diverse areas of expertise. The CPC also holds office hours for student social innovators.
