Commuter Student Support

MAP-Works (Making Achievement Possible)
USD is committed to the individual success of first-year students, using the MAP-Works program to reach out to students who could benefit from additional support in their first semester.
Out-of-State Student Program

Preceptorial Assistant Program

Student Success Coaching

Transfer Student Support
The CSS collaborates with several departments and offices to promote transfer student success. Recent initiatives include a customized orientation program for transfer students.
Student Assessment and Retention
The CSS assists with administering and reporting findings from assessments of first year students and the first year student experience, including the Cooperative Institutional Research Project (CIRP) "Freshman Survey” and “Your First College Year”(YFCY) survey.
