FUSO, ISO Earn Top Honors at 2018-19 Student Organization Awards

Whenever it is stated that the University of San Diego is a designated Changemaker Campus, one of the truly wonderful ways to showcase it is through the nearly 190 student clubs and organizations that exist.

2018-19 Student Org Awards

That’s because USD students have ample opportunities to find something that interests them, something that could light their passion, take them outside of their comfort zone or find a space where they feel right at home. Being part of a club or organization at USD means meeting new people, being part of a group strengthened by a common bond or social justice issue, having fun and, as a whole, make a positive contribution to better the campus environment.

That’s also why it is important to recognize the value of student organizations by hosting an awards ceremony for the 2018-19 school year. On Thursday night, the Office of Student Affairs and Associated Students hosted the annual event at the Student Life Pavilion’s Plaza Mayor (which is soon to be renamed in honor of St. Teresa of Calcutta).

Multiple finalists were named in each of the eight awards given out. Here are the winners as well as the finalists in each category:
