PURE Scholars

The Pre-Undergraduate Research Experience (PURE) is an eight-week educational summer research program designed to give entering students (freshman) the opportunity to get involved in a research project the summer before beginning their first year at USD.

This is a unique opportunity to:

1) Gain real-world experience in science, technology (computer science), engineering, math or medicine (STEM/M)

2) Interact closely with a faculty mentor

3) Meet other students interested in STEM/M research

4) Become familiarized with the campus prior to the start of the Fall semester. 

Other PURE benefits include:

  • $4,000 stipend
  • Up to $800 for research supplies
