Staying Fit and Active
With hectic class schedules, academic demands, and other commitments, students have a tough task in finding time to take care of their bodies. Campus Recreation solves this problem with its “Fit and Active Classes”. Classes are offered in the centrally located Mission Fitness Center Exercise Room in the Valley. Offerings include yoga, pilates, zumba, and boot camp! Students pay a one-time fee of $80 per semester and can go to any scheduled class. Times range from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Campus Recreation has many upcoming classes and activities for the remainder of the Spring 2012 semester. Check out the upcoming Programs & Events section to the right! From yoga, basketball and spin classes, there’s something for everyone!
Barbara Zackowski is the manager of University Fitness Programs and has a deep passion for student’s fitness and general well being. Barbara believes exercise “develops the mind, body, and soul” and that fitness will help students in all areas of their lives. The Mission Fitness Center strives “to help students develop holistically” and “develop a sense of community,” says Barbara. She encourages students to take that critical moment out of their day for exercise and wait for the sense of calm and energy that will inevitably follow.
