Join us Thursday, October 26 as we discuss the "Humanitarian Crisis in the Middle East" and realitites for refugees. Our three guest speakers will offer their unique insignt into the current state of the Middle East and what this translates to for those seeking refuge from their native countries. University of San Diego's Dr. Necla Tschirgi, a professor in the Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies, is native to Turkey and a specialist of international systems related to development and peacebuilding. David Murphy, former executive director of the International Rescue Committee, has extensive experience with refugees in our home city of San Diego and is an activist of humanitarian efforts in the Middle East. Noosheen Alaverdi, a USD alumna, will share her personal experience as a refugee of Iran and the troubling reality refugees face as they leave their home countries. Leave the panel inspired to see how you can embrace the humanitarian philosophy and make waves of influence around you. We will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Warren Auditorium in Mother Rosalie Hill Hall. Register at Admission is free!
