Go Bananas!


  • 2-3 over ripe bananas
  • ⅓ cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour


  1. Pre-heat the oven to 350° F. 
  2. Mash bananas in a bowl with a fork. 
  3. Add butter to the bananas. Stir.
  4. Add baking soda, salt, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture. Mix until well combined.
  5. Switch it up! At this point you could try out some additions to the batter:
    • ½ cup sour cream
    • ½ cup peanut butter
    • ½ cup nutella
  6. Stir in flour and mix until all flour is incorporated.
  7. Prepare your loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.
  8. Switch it up! At this point, you could try out some of the following mix-ins:
    • chocolate chips
    • walnuts
    • nutella swirls
    • peanut butter swirls
    • blueberries
  9. Place pan in oven. Bake for 50 min to an hour. Remove from oven when top is golden browned and a toothpick/fork comes out clean. Let cool, then remove from the pan.
  10. Switch it up! At this point, you could try out a topping:
    1. Citrus glaze (1 table spoon citrus juice mixed with ½ cup powdered sugar)
    2. Cinnamon sugar sprinkled across the top
    3. Cream cheese frosting (4 oz. softened cream cheese, ½ cup softened butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 2 cups powdered sugar)
    4. Top slices of banana bread with nutella, peanut butter, butter, honey, etc.
