  • Second Priority: Students providing services in a language other than English to linguistically diverse populations.
  • Third Priority: Students providing behavioral health services in a rural, medically underserved area, or to vulnerable populations.

Opioid Workforce Expansion Program (OWEP) Track stipend awards are distributed with preference given to the following:

  • Students completing their clinical internship/placement in high-need and high-demand areas
  • Students providing services to vulnerable populations
  • Students who exhibit commitment to working with OUD/SUD post-degree completion

Student Professional Development

Every year, Project TeamUP provides financial assistance to students interested in attending professional conferences linked to current HRSA priority areas. Past students have used funds to attend the Collaborative Family Healthcare Association Annual Conference to learn more about integrated behavioral health in primary care. Others have traveled to Minneapolis, MN to participate in a Narrative Exposure Therapy Training, an evidence-based intervention for refugees and immigrant communities who have experienced trauma.
