Sustainable Holiday Fair Success

Happy Holidays from the Office of Sustainability

Last week, more than 100 students and community members attended USD’s Sustainable Holiday Fair, where they could participate in a variety of activities and learn sustainable tips and habits. Attendees could power up lights on a Christmas tree by riding a stationary bike, make holiday crafts, and enjoy hot cider and festive snacks. The event also offered the opportunity to learn more about holiday food prep that minimizes food waste, certified B-Corporations, and how to have an energy efficient holiday season.

Attendees had several opportunities to earn raffle tickets to win sustainable prizes. These 20 gifts under $20 were displayed to promote eco-friendly gift ideas. See below for the list of items raffled off, and keep sustainability in mind this holiday season by thinking more about the ways you can consume less, reduce waste, and stay mindful.

The Office of Sustainability appreciates their partners for helping to host this successful Sustainable Holiday Fair for the USD community.  A sincere thank you to Public Safety, Campus Recreation, Changemaker Hub, San Diego Food System Alliance, Being Well Committee, USD Grounds Department, SOLES Sustainability Committee, and Be Blue Go Green.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS from the USD Office of Sustainability!
