TESOL Certificate
Make a lifelong difference for English language learners.
Gain the skills to teach English as a Second Language to a diverse and multicultural community of people who speak other languages. This 15-unit graduate-level course gives you a working knowledge of linguistics, language acquisition and the cultural and social contexts of learning listening, speaking and writing skills in a new language.
Through courses like Language, Literacy and Culture, Second Language Acquisition and Development, and Introduction to Language and Linguistic Analysis, you'll develop your ability to connect with and instruct adult English students. And you'll set yourself up to make a lasting impact in private and public schools, businesses, nonprofits, international schools and community organizations.
Note that most students pursue this certificate through our MEd in TESOL, Literacy and Culture program.
