MEd in TESOL, Literacy and Culture
The Department of Learning and Teaching offers two options to assist professionals in the field of education to develop a scholarly and practical approach to literacy and second language instruction. The Master of Education (MEd) in TESOL, Literacy and Culture consists of 30-units taken over four semesters (2 years). The program strives to prepare reflective practitioners who can successfully engage with adult students from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds to ensure their academic success.
- Graduates earn both an MEd and a TESOL certificate.
- Certificate requirements are met within the first year of the degree program.
- Due to regulations from the Department of Education, the University of San Diego is unable to enroll students in its online degree programs who reside in Alabama, Arkansas, District of Columbia, Georgia, Iowa, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin. This restriction does not apply to applicants interested in a campus-based program.
Students entering the University of San Diego and/or declaring a major during 2022-23, should follow information contained in the printed course catalog (also known as the "catalog of record") published on April 1, 2022. Access the catalog of record at https://catalogs.sandiego.edu.
