California Global Ed Project

The California Global Education Project is one of nine discipline-based projects that form the California Subject Matter Project, a statewide professional learning network dedicated to serving K-12 educators. CGEP endeavors to develop the potential in every global citizen through professional learning programs and resources for teachers focused on the knowledge, skills, disposition, and leadership needed to foster global competence.

With regional sites in San Diego, Orange County, Long Beach, Santa Barbara, Central Valley, and Northern California, CGEP customizes programs, coaching, and support to meet the needs of local educators. Teaching for Sustainable Communities: Empowering Eco-Literate Global Citizens is a signature program offered at all sites in addition to programs that feature virtual exchange, digital storytelling, global-themed literature, and cross-cultural exchange.
