Nicholas Boyd

Lecturer I

Nick Boyd has experience in the academic, research, and clinical setting, and has held various clinical and research appointments in the DoD, VA, and community.  Currently, Nick works for the San Diego VA Healthcare System, Center of Excellence for Stress and Mental Health with primary duties as the eScreening Implementation Manager, a national psychological health data capture system. In addition, he works as an Assessment Therapist and Therapist on two VA/NIH funded studies: CBCT for PTSD and Cognitive Rehabilitation and Exposure/Sorting Treatment (a hoarding disorder treatment), respectively.  He is a current doctoral student at the University of the Cumberlands Counselor Education and Supervision program and a Nationally Certified Counsolor. He currently holds an adjunct faculty position in the Department of Counseling and Marital Therapy atUniversity of San Diego. In addition, he has taught as an adjunct faculty member in the San Diego City College AODS program and is also the founder of e3 Civic High’s school-based mental health counseling program.  He is a member in good standing with the American Counseling Association, Military and Government Counseling Association, California Association of Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors, American Academy on the Advancement of Sciences, California Coalition on Sexual Offending, and Forensic Mental Health Association of American. Nick is also a veteran and has served in both the Oregon and California Army National Guard. He currently serves in the California State Military Reserves as a Behavioral Health Officer, supporting Army National Guard soldiers throughout Southern California.
