Dr. Helene T. Mandell is the Director of Field Experiences and Coordinator of the Teacher Credentialing Programs in the School of Leadership and Education Sciences at the University of San Diego. She works with all teacher candidates for field placements and teaches the Student Teaching Seminar course. In addition, Dr. Mandell serves as the Performance Assessment for California Teachers (PACT) Coordinator for USD. Previously, she served as the statewide director for CalStateTEACH, a non-traditional teacher preparation program offered through the California State University System. She has been a public school teacher as well as a professor and department chair in Teacher Education. She has earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison; a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of San Diego, and a Doctor of Education from the University of Southern California. She is a member of the State Board of Institutional Review and is active in accreditation activities and site visits.
