ELDA Professional Development
Every school leader works to create a culture of continuous improvement in the school. In order to improve or accelerate teaching and learning, there must be a link between the students’ learning needs and the professional development provided for the teaching staff. The teaching and the learning must be continuous for improvement to occur.
The ELDA has initiated a variety of professional development/ capacity building opportunities for school leaders, including:
ELDA Forum, a support group where administrators share, discuss, and problem-solve with a group of peers the issues that arise from the administrator’s personal or professional life.
ELDA Principal’s Ongoing Support and Training (POST) is a two year program funded by the Stuart Foundation to provide professional development, capacity building and coaching for twelve principals and three of their leadership team members. The POST schools are located in South Bay Union, Santee, Oceanside and Lemon Grove School Districts
ELDA Summer Institute provides opportunities for school leaders to meet, learn from, and confer with top educational leaders and researchers in the country and to develop an action plan f or meeting the needs of the students they serve.
ELDA Spotlight Series is a yearly Speaker Event featuring five renowned educational speakers/researchers who provide information to help school leaders confront achievement and opportunity gaps in order to build capacity and improve teaching and learning.
