The Latest News from SOLES for you!

Dear SOLES Community,

Happy New Year! I trust all of you had an enjoyable and rejuvenating holiday break. As we begin the new decade, I am excited to share that SOLES is starting off with a new mission, vision, core values, and strategic goals that align with USD’s Envisioning 2024. I invite you all to review SOLES’ 2024 that was carefully crafted by the SOLES Strategic Planning Committee who worked closely with stakeholders throughout the SOLES community.

Over intersession, we had ten students travel to India for their Global Studies course. I encourage all of our new students to stop by the Global Center and learn about our upcoming international courses. Also, during intersession, The Nonprofit Institute successfully held its 16th Annual Nonprofit Governance Symposium and the Leadership Studies Department held another successful Leadership for Change Conference.

I want to recognize Reyes Quezada, EdD for being selected by the Association of Independent Liberal Arts Colleges for Teacher Education (AILACTE) as President-Elect for 2020-2021. Additionally, I want to congratulate Suzanne Stolz, EdD on being selected as an inductee into the Susan M. Daniels Disability Mentoring Hall of Fame! Finally, I am excited to share the Counseling & Marital and Family Therapy Department has recently launched a new Certificate in International School Counseling that will welcome the first cohort this fall.

In honor of current and new students starting classes this semester, I invite you to stop by and join us anytime for our SOLES Spring 2020 Welcome Week activities.

Peace,
Dean Ladany's Signature
