Students are encouraged to apply to scholarships, grants and loans offered through the School of Leadership and Education Sciences and other sources. Domestic students should also file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to applying for additional funding.

SOLES-wide Scholarships and Assistance Programs
Through the Dean's Office, SOLES offers multiple scholarship, grant and loan programs for all SOLES graduate students.
SOLES Diversity Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship program is to encourage multi-cultural understanding and increase diversity among professions supported by our degrees. Awards made are intended to recruit and retain students from underrepresented ethnic and social groups. This program awards scholarships to graduate students who are pursuing teaching credentials, master’s and doctoral degrees. Priority for funding goes to those who apply by April 1. Incoming students admitted after April 1 are still encouraged to apply and are eligible to receive awards.

W. Scott McIntyre Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship award is in memory of W. Scott McIntyre, who received his business degree from the University of San Diego. McIntyre was very interested in real estate and finance, however, he maintained a passion for education and those involved in furthering their goals through education. Despite an untimely death, his passion and generosity are recognized through this scholarship program named in his honor. The scholarship will be awarded to qualified students who share a similar passion for learning and are enrolled in one of the graduate programs in the School of Leadership and Education Sciences. The scholarship is made possible due to the generosity of a private donor from the San Diego Foundation. The application deadline has passed. We are not accepting applications at this time.
SOLES Graduate Student Association Grant
In an effort to support the development of a professional, scholastic and social community within the School of Leadership and Education Sciences, the SOLES Graduate Student Association (SGSA) awards a limited number of supplemental grants to graduate students who wish to participate in various professional development opportunities. School of Leadership and Education Sciences Loan Program
Graduate master, doctoral and credential students may apply to take out a student loan from SOLES. Approved loan amounts will not exceed $2,500/semester or $5,000/academic year. Maximum loan program amount will not exceed $10,000 and two consecutive years. Download Application
Meritorious Research Travel Award
This award provides funding for students who are the first, second or sole author of a paper and are in need of funds to travel to national or international meetings at which they will presenting their research in a paper session. Download Application
Diocesan of San Diego Employee Scholarship
This is an annually renewable grant for students who are full-time employees of the Catholic Diocese of San Diego, including parish schools and agencies. The scholarship is based on unit enrollment and is subject to the amount of other academic scholarships. Applicants for the Diocesan of San Diego Employee Scholarship must be a SOLES student in good standing and be an employee who works full-time for the Diocese of San Diego. Yellow Ribbon Veteran's Benefit

University of San Diego Scholarships
Alumni Endowed Scholarship Fund
Created, funded and directed by USD alumni, the USD Alumni Endowed Scholarship Fund was launched in 2006 to provide much-needed scholarships for all USD students (graduate and undergraduate). This scholarship is open to current USD students with financial need, strong academic merit and who give back to USD and/or the local community. Typical awards are $$2,000. Applications are accepted December through February and awarded the next academic year.
