The School of Leadership and Education Sciences is proud to engage in important partnerships with numerous organizations ranging from public and private K-12 schools, to local colleges and universities, and non-profit organizations in the local, national and international arena.

Troops to Teachers (TTT)

The Troops to Teachers (TTT) Program targets former military personnel interested in teaching and offers a high quality, flexible teacher preparation option to participants.

Southern California Teacher Recruitment Center (TRC)

The San Diego County Office of Education's Teacher Recruitment and Support Center (TRC) and SOLES have formalized a partnership to enhance the recruitment of the best and brightest teaching profession in the high need areas of math, science and special education.

Linked Learning Alliance

SOLES supports the Linked Learning Alliance by supporting ongoing training and educational programming for school leaders in their goals of transforming the high school experience by bringing together strong academics, demanding technical education and real-world experience to help students gain an advantage in high school, postsecondary education and careers.

San Diego Public Leadership Institute (PLI)

SOLES partners with PLI to prepare professionals interested in exploring public leadership. PLI is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization that seeks to help participants discover how their business-related experience and talent can address public-policy challenges.

Universidad Iberoamericana Tijuana (UIA)

Graduate students in the Department of Leadership Studies have the opportunity to study at Universidad Iberoamericana Tijuana during their program.

Daraja Academy, Kenya

Founded by USD Alum Jason Doherty, Daraja Academy is the first free secondary school in all of East Africa, providing an exemplary secondary education to girls who have no other means to attend school. The mission of the Daraja Academy is to educate and empower girls from poverty to become community leaders. 

Hansen Summer Institute

The Hansen Summer Institute on Leadership and International Cooperation is an international program for college age students funded by the Fred J. Hansen Foundation. Each year, students from the U.S. join students from developing countries to create lasting friendships and acquire common understanding, leading to a more peaceful future.

International Council on Education for Teaching (ICET)

ICET is a US-based International NGO with consultative status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council taking an active role in addressing local and global teacher shortages. 

Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia

This program allows students to participate in an exchange program at QUT for one semester.

Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Brazil

This academic and research partnership focuses on cultural, language and literacy practices in families, schools and communities and their impact on learning/teaching processes.

University of Hong Kong, People's Republic of China

This partnership is part of the Marital and Family Therapy program. 

University of Minnesota, Morris - Global Student Teaching

This partnership provides placement services for Learning and Teaching credential candidates wishing to complete their student teaching abroad.

University of Mondragon, Spain

As part of this partnership, students can attend the Mondragon University for one course, seminar or semester. The Mondragon University teacher education students are also able to attend USD for one semester.

Camp Adventure and Youth Services

This campus-wide partnership enables USD students to intern with Camp Adventure Youth Services at the University of Northern Iowa over the summer.

University of Pretoria, South Africa

This program is designed to enhance the development of mutual programs, exchanges and research between the two universities.
