Assistant Dean of Assessment and Accreditation

As the Assistant Dean of Assessment and Accreditation, Heather is responsible for the Academic Program Review for SOLES’s 13 Masters and Doctoral programs as part of the University’s WASC accreditation. Additionally, Heather directs the professional external accreditation for SOLES’s teacher education credential programs, (CAEP and CTC); the Masters degrees in School Counseling, (CTC and CACREP); Clinical Mental Health Counseling, (CACREP); and Marriage and Family Therapy (COAMFTE). She also oversees the school’s Title II reporting.

Heather is a professional higher education administrator with ten years of leadership experience in academic affairs, curriculum development, and student learning outcome measurement design and assessment. Her expertise ranges from teacher education preparation, human development and rehabilitation, media, studio art, art performance, and art professions. She is versed in 16 specialized accreditation standards related to education and the allied health professions.

Heather started her career in the classroom and has twenty years of experience teaching composition and rhetoric across a wide spectrum of college-level student populations. She has a proven commitment to under-served students and the enhancement of teacher education preparation. She received her PhD in English Education from New York University.
