Dr. Yaoran Li holds an M.A. in Statistics and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is interested in leveraging data and empirical evidence to understand and model complex learning processes, such as mathematical learning and social-emotional learning. Prior to coming to the University of San Diego, she worked at ACT Inc. for the statistical research team. Currently at JI, she contributes to the strategic thinking process of developing high-quality research-based educational assets and research proposals. She also leads research and evaluation projects which are funded by national agencies, such as the National Science Foundation (NSF) and Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA). She enjoys collaborating with learners, educators, administrators, and entrepreneurs to identify or develop effective innovative programming through a data-driven ecological framework. She has published more than a dozen of articles in high-impact peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Educational Psychology, Developmental Science, and Learning and Individual Difference (Wiley) and presented at conferences such as AERA, APA, and ITEST.
