Phi Delta Kappa Honor Association
Phi Delta Kappa (PDK) is a professional honor association founded in 1906 to serve all members of the educational community. Dedicated to the advocacy of public schools, PDK maintains a network of more than 650 chapters in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia. The association publishes the magazine the Kappan and Phi Delta Kappa, one of the most cited education journals in the United States. PDK also sponsors an annual Phi Delta Kappa/Gallup Poll of “The Public’s Attitudes Toward the Public Schools.”
At the University of San Diego, PDK chapter 1601 is housed within the School of Leadership and Education Sciences, but welcomes members from across campus and among alumni. PDK welcomes members from all facets of our community, including students, teachers, school and district administrators, counselors and friends of the School of Leadership and Education Sciences. The organization supports a wide range of innovative initiatives based on visionary leadership, relevant research and dedicated service.
