Tentative Move-In Dates

New Incoming First-Year Residents: Saturday, August 31, 2019. Please review the first-year move-in memo (coming soon) for specific move-in times and additional information.

New Incoming Transfer Residents: Saturday, August 31, 2019 - beginning at 9am. Please visit the Transfer Fall Orientation page for additional information.

New Incoming International Residents: Tuesday, August 27, 2019 beginning at 10am. Please refer to the International Center for more details about International Orientation.

Law Student Residents: Sunday, August 11, 2019 beginning at 10am

Returning Undergraduate Residents: Monday, September 2, 2019 beginning at 10am

Graduate Student Residents: Monday, September 2, 2019 beginning at 10am

Early Arrival Requests

Due to the increase in student organizations arriving to campus prior to move in, Residential Life will only be accepting personal early arrival requests on a case by case basis. Please note that if an early arrival request is approved then there will be a daily fee of $65 posted to the student account. There will be an additional $65 late fee if the early arrival request is made less than 5 business days prior to the requested check-in date.

Students who are members of a team or club that require an early arrival should contact their coach or group advisor for additional information. Early arrival charges may still apply for these student groups.

New Fall 2019 First-Year and Transfer Students Campus Housing Information

Make your commitment deposits as early as possible after being admitted to establish campus housing priority. The online new student 2019 - 2020 housing application will be available May 16th at 12noon.

Incoming first-years please note that all four first-year areas will be home to our Living Learning Communities (LLC) program. Please visit our LLC Page for more information. 

Transfer/upperclassman housing is VERY limited and not guaranteed for students that are not a part of the two-year residency requirement. The University of San Diego has a two-year residency requirement. Please visit the Transfer Student Housing and Second Year Housing webpages for more information. If you would like to be connected to off-campus housing resources, please contact Residential Life at housing@sandiego.edu

New Fall 2019 Law and Graduate Students Campus Housing Information

Housing for graduate and law students is VERY limited. Additional resources can be found at the off-campus housing website. Please submit a 2019-20 housing application to be added to the interest list and our office will contact students based on availability. The 2019-20 housing application will be available May 16th at 12noon.

Fall 2019 Occupancy Period

New Incoming First-Year Students

The fall semester occupancy period for new incoming freshmen is Saturday, August 31, 2019 to 12 pm on Saturday, December 21, 2019 or twenty-four hours after the resident's last examination (whichever comes earlier). Specific move-in times for Saturday, August 31 will be sent to each new freshman resident in August.

New Incoming Transfers

The fall semester occupancy period for new incoming transfer students in non-continuous occupancy is 9am on Saturday, August  31, 2019 to noon on Saturday, December 21, 2019 or twenty-four hours after the resident's last examination (whichever comes earlier). For those in continuous occupancy residence halls, the occupancy period is Saturday, August 31, 2019 to noon on Friday, May 22, 2020. 

Undergraduates (Returning)

The fall semester occupancy period for returning undergraduates in non-continuous occupancy is 10 am on Monday, September 2, 2018 to noon on Saturday, December 22, 2018 or twenty-four hours after the resident’s last examination (whichever comes earlier). For those in continuous occupancy, the academic year occupancy period begins 10 am on Monday, September 2, 2019 and ends at noon on Friday, May 22, 2020.

Graduate Students

The academic year occupancy period for graduate student residents living in Presidio Terrace provides for continuous occupancy from 10 am on Monday, September 2, 2019 through noon on Friday, May 22, 2020.

Law Students

The academic year occupancy period for law student residents living in Presidio Terrace provides for continuous occupancy from 10 am on Sunday, August 11, 2019 through noon on Sunday, May 10, 2020.

Continuous Occupancy

Continuous occupancy (including Christmas Break, Intersession and Spring Break) is available at no additional expense only for those non-freshman residents in the San Antonio de Padua, Presidio Terrace, University Terrace Apartments and Manchester Village who fulfill the full 2019-2020 academic year Agreement. Any resident who does not fulfill the full 2019-2020 academic year Agreement shall pay the room fees established for those periods.
