Coronavirus Update

Dear Students,

I am writing with further updates on the rapidly changing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. As you know from previous communications, the COVID-19 Action team has been actively engaged in monitoring developments, with the goal of protecting the health and safety of all community members.

Given the uncertainty of the current crisis, we must take precautionary measures to reduce risk and ensure academic continuity with minimal disruptions to students’ academic progress.  These precautions include the following:

  • All faculty have been asked to prepare to teach remotely no later than March 23.
  • *This precaution means that students should also become familiar with remote teaching tools, specifically ZOOM.
  • All students are encouraged to become familiar with ZOOM as soon as possible. Instructions can be found here: https://www.sandiego.edu/its/support/software/zoom.php
  • ITS has prepared a webpage, with resources regarding how to best utilize these online learning tools.

While there are still no plans to cancel classes, we must be prepared to teach and learn remotely, should that become necessary. Our first priority is the health and safety of our community.

Please continue to review our dedicated COVID-19 webpage to make it easy for you to access official updates in one location.

Thank you for your patience as we work through this situation.

Respectfully,
