Pregnant students can be accommodated in all of our residence halls, as space allows, or are allowed special exception to be released from their housing contract. Please contact a Residential Life staff member (Resident Assistant, Resident Minister or Community Director) if you are in need of any assistance with a current on-campus assignment, or if you would like to discuss housing for the upcoming semester. You may also contact the central residential life office at 619-260-4777.
As space allows, parenting students can be accommodated in our Presidio Terrace Apartments (PTAs), which are single units. Please contact the Residential Life Central Office if you are interested in a PTA apartment.
Off-Campus Housing
There are a number of online resources that may assist you in locating housing for you and your family. When considering living off-campus, it is also important to look into transportation and safety issues for each neighborhood. Links provided below are not connected to the University of San Diego. Neighborhoods near USD:
San Diego is known for it’s diverse neighborhoods. Many USD students choose to either live near campus: (Linda Vista, Mission/Fashion Valley, Point Loma, Mission Hills, Old Town); at the beach: (Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, La Jolla) or Downtown. Family-friendly Neighborhoods:
In trying to identify family-friendly areas, it may be worthwhile to consider neighborhoods that are a little further from the USD campus. There are a number of blogs online that share various opinions about the most family-friendly neighborhoods; you may want to do an internet search for "family-friendly neighborhoods in San Diego. Gathering information on schools can also help identify family-friendly areas, as families tend to migrate towards the strongest schools. The links below may also be helpful in identifying family-friendly neighborhoods.
