Career Development For Peace and Justice

Preparing for Your Future as a Professional of Peace

The Kroc School equips students with the skills and professional growth they need for a successful career in peace and justice by providing experiential learning inside and outside of the classroom.

MAPJ students grow their professional portfolio through real-world practice. Students are required to complete one academic summer internship, detailed on the internship page. Internships may focus on areas from human rights advocacy to environmental justice or inter-religious peacebuilding.

MAPJ students participate in Kroc Connect, a program which incorporates outstanding networking, career exploration, skill-building and professional readiness opportunities.

Mentoring Alliance

Mentors can accelerate career growth, exposing students to opportunities and experiences that can serve as a foundation for their future. The Mentoring Alliance is a year-long, voluntary program which matches students with practicing professionals and alumni to provide mentoring in career planning.

Career Planning

Navigating a career in peacebuilding can be challenging. MAPJ students follow a Kroc School two-year career planning guide with essential timelines, tips and tactics so that they can identify and progress towards the best professional opportunities available.

In addition to activities designed specifically for peace and justice students, the Kroc School ensures students have even more opportunities for professional growth. Check out more Career Development opportunities and tools at the Kroc School.
