Lilian Riziq

Lilian Riziq (South Sudan) is one of the prominent leaders in South Sudan’s women’s movement, a Member of Leadership Team of South Sudan National Dialogue Steering Committee, and served as State Minister of Finance and State Minister of Agriculture in the Former Western Bahr El Gazal State in South Sudan. As a member of the National Constitution Review Commission, Lilian was involved in different initiatives in an attempt to engender the permanent constitution of South Sudan. She founded the South Sudan Women’s Empowerment Network and served as CEO for six years, working in partnership with several developmental organizations to raise awareness on key international and regional instruments on women’s rights, including the ratification of the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). In 2016, Lilian returned to SSWEN  as a Country Director, where she is deeply involved in the strengthening of financial management protocols and operations.
