Amy began her career as a 2013 Teach for America corps member in Miami and has continued to pursue excellence in teaching and learning ever since.

Motivated by the lived reality of climate change and passion for the ocean, Amy moved to San Diego in 2016 to pursue a Master's in Climate Science and Policy at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. While there, she volunteered for Ocean Connectors and decided to call the region home. Amy currently serves as an advisory board member for Ocean Connectors and on the board of the San Diego Leadership Alliance, reflecting an ongoing commitment to investing in San Diego’s next generation of stewards and leaders.

Prior to Kroc, Amy worked as Assistant Director of Education at the UCSD Center on Global Justice, where she taught experiential community-based practica and led the Mellon Community Stations Fellowship. Her sociological research at UCSD focused on the connection between climate adaptation policy, fire insurance and economic injustice in California.
