Erin Gavin

Erin M. Gavin is a practitioner and educator with two decades of experience at the intersection of technology, social impact, and global development. She has led public affairs and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives for a Fortune 500 company, expanding access to communications technology in underserved communities and advancing education, healthcare, financial inclusion, women’s empowerment, and disaster response through cross-sector collaboration with governments, NGOs, and the private sector. Erin’s academic interests include organizational and intercultural communication, mentorship, and business ethics—fields that reflect her commitment to inclusive and sustainable change.

In addition to teaching, Erin is the founder and executive director of Gavin Group International, where she partners with mission-driven organizations to promote economic opportunity and social development. During her tenure at Qualcomm Incorporated, she led the Thinkabit Lab and Women Enhancing Technology programs, which were designed to foster a more inclusive STEM workforce. She also implemented Wireless Reach projects across the U.S., Southeast Asia, Japan, Korea, India, and sub-Saharan Africa, leveraging mobile innovation to support gender equity, social entrepreneurship, and environmental sustainability. Her work has been recognized by the Institute of International Education, the Grameen Foundation, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, among others.

Erin holds a master’s degree in Human Communication from Arizona State University and a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Business Administration from the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo, where she was a tennis scholar-athlete.
