Job Title: Federal Work-Study Marketing Support
Pay Rate: $14.00/hour

Job Responsibilities:
Participates with the marketing team(s) to increase marketing effectiveness by:
- Working with staff, faculty, and members of the marketing team(s) to develop internal and external marketing information to be used on the website, through email, and on social media
- This is done to improve our ability to reach target audiences, and to create continuous improvement cycles that allow the program to deliver and improve service to mission
Supports the brand and activities of the program and its objectives by:
- Developing content, graphics, and design elements for use in marketing, communications, and outreach
- Drafting email campaigns, social media posts, flyers, posters, videos, and other creative components to support marketing efforts
- This is done to support branding, and messaging and to increase the number and quality of participants attending and participating in entrepreneurship and innovation programs and activities at USD
Supports the programs events (virtual and in-person) to ensure coordination and smooth delivery by:
- Coordinating with appropriate internal and external stakeholders to deliver/execute competition prizes (scholarships, seed-fund awards, etc)
- Coordinating with USD's marketing team(s) to keep website, MyPosting, and other internal and external sources up to date
- Input and distribute competition submission and judging platform through ReviewR or other tools as directed
- Communicating with judges, sponsors, stakeholders as needed about deadlines, materials, event logistics, etc.
- Communicating and coordinating with participants and attendees as needed about various events and activities
- Supporting event planning and execution for virtual or in-person events including but not limited to supporting registration, speakers, attendees, staff and faculty for pre-event planning, event execution, and post-event evaluation
- This is done to ensure everyone connected to events and activities has access to information and resources to have the intended experience
Works with marketing team(s) and supervisors to collect and analyze data from various sources to measure effectiveness of marketing efforts by:
- Working with others to identify and implement data gathering activities in a way they can be evaluated
- Reviewing data to and participating in analysis to find evidence of effectiveness and opportunities for improvement in marketing efforts
- Making recommendations on how to improve marketing effectiveness
- Implementing approved recommendations
- This is done to improve our ability to reach target audiences, and to create continuous improvement cycles that allow the program to deliver and improve service to mission
Skills/Qualifications:
- Must be a USD undergraduate student with a Federal Work Study allocation
- Ability and willingness to represent the University in the most positive manner with prospective, former, and current students, clients, donors, mentors, suppliers, and the community we serve
- Cooperate as a team member while performing duties essential to the achievement of efficient delivery of effort
- Assumes responsibility, asks for assistance, demonstrates willingness to learn
- Effectively deals with problems, and exercises judgement
- Very organized, self-starter who can work independently and has good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Able to learn quickly and self-teach with online tutorials
- Works well and quickly under pressure and manages competing priorities
- Effectively uses computer, telephone, and other office equipment
Additional Information:
- Hours: 2 – 4 days per week; flexible around class schedule
- May include early mornings, general work day, evenings, weekends
