MSN to DNP Program

Admission Criteria
MSN to DNP in Emergency Care for Family Nurse Practitioners Track

  • MSN degree from an approved, accredited college or university
  • Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Unencumbered, active California RN license
  • One year of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Experience in emergency nursing, disaster/crisis management, military service or related work experience required
  • GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Completion of the university application for the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program
  • Goal statement in the application will require the applicant to elucidate a specific clinical practice focus and evidence-based clinical issue or problem
  • One official transcript from each college or university attended
    (An official evaluation by World Education Services (www.wes.org) is required for all international transcripts.)
  • Three professional recommendations (See application instructions)
  • Writing Sample (see application instructions)
  • Resume/CV
  • Interview (qualified applicants will be contacted to interview based on initial review of their application)
  • Evidence of specified immunizations and screening tests, a report of recent physical examination, and BLS certification if admitted into the program

The priority application deadline is March 1 for fall admission. All materials must be received by the priority deadline to receive priority consideration.
