Clinical Assistant Professor And Clinical Placement Coordinator

Clinical Placement Coordinator, Professor Peggy Mata has over 20 years’ experience as an RN in various roles in the clinical setting as well as the faculty role. With greater than 5 years’ experience at the bedside in the area of PCU and ICU Professor Mata has a deep understanding of the needs of pre-licensure nursing students. She works closely with MEPN students to identify and coordinate appropriate clinical and community placements.

As faculty in the Hahn School of Nursing, Professor Mata has assumed the role of Graduate Nursing Student Association (GNSA) faculty advisor. Additionally, Professor Mata oversees the International Mission Trips to Tijuana where nursing students gather data on clients with pre-existing chronic illnesses, and provide health education and screenings to the underserved population of the border community.
