Professor Spotlight on Dr. Suzanne Stolz and Lead4Inclusion

We sat down to get to know a little more about Assistant Professor and Director of the Johnson Fellows program Suzanne Stolz, EdD and the Teacher Leaders for Inclusion website that she helped to create.

The Teacher Leaders for Inclusion website is now up and running! This teacher resource grows from our facilitation of the Johnson Fellows Program, a fellowship program that supports teachers to better include disabled students in general education classrooms. Using a Disability Studies in Education (DSE) framework, the site celebrates disability as valued diversity. Features include: learning modules for teachers who want to learn more about DSE, downloadable professional development presentations for teachers who want to support colleagues, a growing repository of K-12 lesson plans that align with DSE tenets, recommended children’s books that feature disability and avoid ableist representations, and more. Initiated by Dr. Suzanne Stolz at USD, this project is a collaboration of faculty and students from multiple universities and local K-12 schools.
