Global Study Rankings

Brazil study abroad
begin quoteUSD ranked #39 institution among doctorate-granting universities for the total number of study abroad students in the 2018/2019 academic year

During International Education Week (IEW), November 16-20, 2020, nationwide university global study/study abroad rankings were announced. For the first time ever, the University of San Diego (USD) was ranked #39 institution among doctorate-granting universities for the total number of study abroad students in the 2018/2019 academic year.

SOLES had a record number of students participate in a global study during the 2018/2019 academic year. With 24 different courses on 5 different continents: Africa; Asia; Europe; North America; and South America, SOLES had 260 students participate in a global study experience.

Thanks to SOLES and the other graduate programs, USD entered this ranking for the first time! Given the size of our university, this ranking is very impressive. Rankings are all part of the Open Doors® 2020 Report on International Educational Exchange

Additionally, USD was ranked #2 institution among doctorate-granting universities for their undergraduate participation rate in study abroad for the 2018/2019 academic year. USD continues to be a leader in international education.

While our global study programs have been impacted by the pandemic, we have been able to continue offering internationalized courses online. In February 2021, summer registration will open and we have seven (7) course options. Check out the Global Center website for registration and course details.
