March Updates from The Nonprofit Institute

Board Chairs Learning Group

Here are The Nonprofit Institute's updates from February and upcoming happenings in March.

General NPI Updates
The 16th Annual Nonprofit Governance brought in 399 attendees, from approximately 214 local organizations. Of our attendees, 187 utilized our Governance Symposium app to engage with one another and learn more about our workshops. This year, we had a 37% increase in survey respondents, those who participated in the survey 55% were first-time attendees. Some attendee feedback included, "The event was wonderful - I thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a lot to take back to my agency.  Thank you for all of your hard work to put it together. Amid all of the current divisiveness in our country, it was very reassuring to be around a group of people who are working to create good in the world." - "Keep up the DEI work. Liked the broader diversity of speakers and topics this year."

The Board Chairs Learning Group inaugural cohort came to a close on Monday, February 24th. There was a total of sixteen participants in the cohort, they met once a month for 8 months to discuss leadership, issues in the boardroom, governance, and more.

The NPI research team delivered a summary report and presentation to the San Diego Natural History Museum on its assessment of the community's need and resolve for a cross-sector urban canyon conservation initiative.
