SOLES Community Honored at Women of Impact Luncheon

SOLES Students honored at the Women of Impact Luncheon

This past Thursday, the Women’s Commons celebrated outstanding accomplishments made by women in the USD community at the 22nd Annual Women of Impact Luncheon. In attendance were over 113 women who were nominated by peers, faculty, or staff members for their dedication to bringing positive change to the University of San Diego. With the theme “Growing Through It” serving as the backdrop for this widely-celebrated event, committee members shared that the celebration not only “highlights the strengths women carry with them every day as they navigate their experiences [but also] highlights the thorns women learn to embrace as they build themselves and continue to do work in cultivating a community of belonging for everyone.”

Of the 113 women nominated for their work, numerous SOLES students and four SOLES faculty members were honored, including Edith “Meredith” Mendez (‘20 MA, Higher Education Leadership) who was bestowed the 2019 Graduate/Law Student Woman of Impact Award. Also honored at the luncheon was SOLES alumna Jelitsa Fonseca (‘18 MA, Higher Education Leadership) who was given the Staff Award. Please join us in celebrating all of the hard work and accomplishments that our students, faculty, and alumnae have contributed to SOLES and larger USD community!
