Second Cohort of Nepali Emerging Leaders Graduates in Ceremony in Gorkha

The 16th Century Gorkha Durbar, or palace, clings to the top of a hill nearly 5,000 feet in the air. Manaslu, the world’s eighth tallest peak, towers snowcapped in the distance. The combined fort, palace, and temple offer commanding views of the neighboring hills and valleys. From this seat of power in the mid-1700s, the King of Gorkha, Prithvi Narayan Shah, launched his successful campaign to unify the kingdoms of Nepal, setting the stage for the modern-day country.
