Classes from the Great Recession Asked to Answer the Call for 2020 Alumni Resource Program

2020 Alumni Resource Program

SAN DIEGO (May 13, 2020) – The University of San Diego (USD) School of Law Office of Career and Professional Development (OCPD) is calling on the Classes of 2009, 2010, and 2011 to support our 2020 graduates as we confront ongoing changes in the legal profession and the legal job market.

To help launch our graduates into the legal profession and give back to the law school in a very special way, we invite these alumni classes to participate in our 2020 Alumni Resource Program.  Assistant Dean Molly T. Wescott highlights the important role these alumni play, "Having graduated during the Great Recession, we believe you possess unique insight into the entry-level job market during an economic downturn.  USD Law’s 2020 grads would benefit from your expertise in the form of moral support and guidance, as they enter a depressed market and face much uncertainty."

Alumni participating in our 2020 Alumni Resource Program will be matched with a 2020 grad who has not yet secured post-graduate employment.  The depth and length of the relationship will be up to the alum and the graduate.  If you are able to participate, please email lawcareers@sandiego.edu and confirm your current employer, position, and area of practice.  Once we compile a list of interested alumni, we will reach out to the 2020 grads and match participants from there.

Thank you for your time and support!  We look forward to a unique partnership this year with our alumni as we provide extensive support to our 2020 grads to ensure their successful transition to legal practice and the USD Law alumni community.

It’s always a good time to #HireUSDLaw.
