Carolina Bravo-Karimi ’08 (JD) Selected as Hispanic National Bar Association's Top Lawyers Under 40

SAN DIEGO (March 22, 2019) – University of San Diego (USD) School of Law alumna Carolina Bravo-Karimi, ’08 (JD), was recently named a Top Lawyer Under 40 by the Hispanic National Bar Association (HBNA).  HBNA recognizes men and women who are committed to the Hispanic community while also improving the legal profession. This year, 36 attorneys received this award, and  the awards were presented on March 21, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the HNBA Corporate Counsel Conference.

Bravo-Karimi is the first Latina Partner at Wilson Turner Kosmo LLP. Bravo-Karimi - the largest women-owned law firm in San Diego. As a member of the firm's Employment Law group, she represents employers in disputes including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour litigation. Bravo-Karimi also conducts workplace investigations, including those requiring Spanish fluency, and regularly advises employers regarding diversity initiatives and provides implicit bias, equal pay, and anti-harassment training. 

Prior to joining Wilson Turner Kosmo, Bravo-Karimi served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Louisa S Porter of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. She received her Juris Doctor degree from USD School of Law, Master of Science degree in Gender Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and Bachelor’s degree from Harvard University.

Bravo-Karimi is a 2017 Rising Star Recent Alumni Award honoree and a current member of the Law Alumni Association Board of Directors. She is a former Faculty Advisor for the Executive Moot Court Board and Adjunct Professor for the School of Law.
